hiphopfightsback asked: There's a huge difference between style and subject matter. Do all rappers who spit solely about money, bitches, and blunts (aka the good life) have the same style or simply the same subject matter?

There is a difference yes, but subject matter is a huge chunk of someone’s style, isn’t it? For example I would never rap about gangs and living in an urban environment where those circumumstances are what dictates life because it also isn’t my style. I also wouldn’t rap about having threesomes with a triceratops or crashing a plane that someone is in because it isn’t my style to do so. I’m more of a positive guy so I’ll spit positive shit. But regardless, just because Tyler and OF are getting buzz for their “style” or “subject matter” doesn’t mean they were the first to do it or that it’s fresh.
